He was born in 1959, and received his Ph. D. degree from the Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies, National Chengchi University and is currently a research fellow at the Institute of International Relation, National Chengchi University. His field of specialization includes the local governance of Mainland China, Cross-strait economic and trade ties, as well as Taiwanese, Japanese, and Korean business studies. He has not only recently edited books relating to East Asian economic development and Taiwanese businessmen studies, but has also published articles in Chinese Political Science Review, Prospect Quarterly, Issues & Studies and Mainland China Studies(TSSCI).
