Services for students with a disability or (chronic) illness

It is estimated that there are more than 3,000 students at the University of Tübingen whose ability to study is affected by illness and/or disability. In order to support such students, the University of Tübingen offers special counseling services that can be used at any stage of studies, or even before the start of studies.

Student Counseling Service contact

Katrin Motta and Carmen Schüßler are the contact persons for students with a disability or (chronic) illness. Within the team of the Student Counseling Service, you can also approach Katja Grathwol, Birgit Grunschel, and Hanna Rindfleisch for counseling.

You can contact us easily and in various ways. Just call us or send an e-mail to: zsbspam prevention@uni-tuebingen.de

You can also make use of the Student Counseling Service's open hours for straightforward consultations.

Please let us know in advance if you require barrier-free access.

Topics for consultation

We can support you in deciding on the appropriate type of study and university, in planning and organizing your studies, and in answering questions about possible alternatives. There is also the option of counseling in personally difficult situations. Important topics may also include financing your studies, getting access to necessary tools and resources, finding suitable housing, and assistance in everyday study routines. If you need an individual adjustment of study conditions, you can apply for disadvantage compensation ("Nachteilsausgleich"). Counseling is voluntary, confidential and open-ended.

You can find other consultation topics that may be relevant to you and other students before and during your studies here.
