Proteome Center Tuebingen
Proteome Center Tuebingen (PCT) is a proteomics core facility of the University of Tuebingen and a member of the Quantitative Biology Center (www.qbic.uni-tuebingen.de). Members of the PCT team are:
- Prof. Dr. Boris Macek (Director)
- Dr. Mirita Franz-Wachtel (Core Facility Head)
- Dr. Ana Velic
- Irina Droste-Borel, Dipl. Biol.
- Silke Wahl, Dipl. Biol.
- Anke Biedermann, Dipl. Biol.
- Johannes Madlung, CTA
We offer various workflows for qualitative and quantitative analyses of proteins, proteomes and subproteomes (e.g. interactome, phosphoproteome, acetylome, ubiquitylome). Other posttranslational modifications can also be analyzed upon request.
Core Facility measurements are routinely performed on a Q-Exactive HF or Orbitrap Exploris 480 mass spectrometer. Quantitative workflows are mainly based on stable isotope labeling (SILAC, TMT, dimethyl labeling) or label-free quantification.
Please note that for a successful proteomics project:
- Genome sequence or protein database of the organism of interest has to be available
- Proteins should be delivered in µg amount as precipitated extracts or gel spots
- Proteins/gels must NOT be radioactively labeled
- Theoretical background of the project and protocols employed prior to MS measurement should be discussed with the PCT in detail in order to adapt the adequate analysis method
Our operational and access policies can be found here: Nutzer- und Gebührenordnung (German only).
