Vita

Pamela Klassen lehrt seit 1997 am Department for the Study of Religion an der University of Toronto, seit 2011 ist sie Full Professor mit einer Cross-Appointment in der Department of Anthropology. Seit 2013 ist sie ein Elected Member der American Society for the Study of Religion, 2012 gewann sie den Preis der American Academy of Religion für Ihr Buch Spirits of Protestantism: Medicine, Healing, and Liberal Christianity (Berkeley: University of California Press, 2011). 2004/05 war sie mit einem Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Research Fellowship und 2010-11 als Returning Fellow am Institut für Ethnologie in Tübingen.

2015 wurde Prof. Klassen der Anneliese-Maier-Forschungspreis der Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung verliehen.
