Wissenschaftlicher Werdegang

Dr. Amjed Rasheed ist Gastdozent am Institut für Politikwissenschaft (IfP). Bevor er dem Institut beitrat, war er Postdoc-Forschungsstipendiat an der School of Government and International Affairs (SGIA) an der Universität Durham, an der er 2017 auch seinen Doktortitel erhielt. Amjed hat einen M.Sc. in Internationaler Politik von der Universität Glasgow und einen M.A. Fellow der Higher Education Academy in Grossbritannien (FHEA) und ist zudem Vorstandsmitglied des in Irak/Kurdistan ansässigen Open Think Tank (OTT). Er ist auch Teilzeitdozent an der SOAS, wo er regelmäßig Kurse zur Kurdenfrage für die Diplomatische Akademie am Foreign Commonwealth Office-London (FCO) hält. Gegenwärtig arbeitet er an zwei Forschungsprojekten, eines über den Aufstieg Chinas und die autoritäre Verstärkung in der MENA-Region, und das zweite über die Triebkräfte des gewalttätigen Extremismus (mit der Universität Uppsala und der Berghof-Stiftung). Er ist außerdem Mitherausgeber der in Durham ansässigen Shura-Councils in in the Persian Gulf Monograph Series, and al-Sabah Insights.
