Prof. Dr. Dieter Kern
The working group headed by Prof. Dr. Dieter Kern has established its expertise in the field of micro- and nanostructuring. This expertise builds the foundation for the production of modern sensory systems as for example Cantilever-sensors, nanostructured metal oxide and semiconductor-sensors. There is a long-lasting cooperation between the institute and the research group of physical chemistry headed by Prof. Dr. Udo Weimar.
The team is interested especially in the intersection of geological and mechanical/electrical/chemical systems like implants and medical devices. Recording, presentation and evaluation of measured data as well as simulation of real activities are integral elements of past and future projects.
