Studies
Studying media – experiencing media
The Institute of Media Studies offers BA and MA courses. You can find out more about them here. The courses all closely interlink theory and practice, media competence and reflectivity, method skills and current research. In addition to conveying the latest research results and methods in communication science, you will be involved in teaching/research projects and editorial units to introduce you to all aspects of media practice, from researching and writing news reports and conducting interviews to digital editing. Working in small groups and the excellent level of support between lecturers and students facilitates efficient learning and intensive discussions. The courses provided by the Institute of Media Studies offer a wide range of methodical approaches and encourage participants to look beyond their own noses. Media studies students are supported if they wish to spend one or two semesters at a university in another country. And internationality is by no means a one-way street: there are numerous foreign students at Tübingen University.
