Tübingen School of Education (TüSE)

Tübingen Teacher Education Portfolio Project

As mandated by the government, the portfolio is a required component of the study program for all teacher education students in Baden-Württemberg. The goals of portfolio work in Tübingen include the strengthening of reflexivity of our students and the interrelation of theory and practice in the various components of teacher education. The Tübingen Portfolio Project cooperates with the State Seminar for Didactics and Teacher Training for upper secondary schools (Staatliches Seminar für Didaktik und Lehrerbildung an Gymnasien) in Tübingen in the Education Science program, but is also involved in several subject-specific teaching theories and teaching methodologies. Students are introduced to portfolio work in the lecture „Introduction to Education Science.“ While the portolio is not directly assessed, it remains an integral and required component of the program.

Future outlook

In the future, the Tübingen Portfolio Project will be expanded to encompass an increasing number of teachable subjects and further developed to suit the Master of Education (M. Ed.) degree. Starting from Winter Term 2018/2019, the project will be gradually integrated into the online learning platform ILIAS.
