Education in Machine Learning

Bachelor and Master students

The University of Tübingen already offers plentiful options for students wishing to study machine learning and its application in science. For example, it offers Bachelor and/or Master programs in computer science (BSc, MSc), bioinformatics (BSc, MSc), medical informatics (BSc, MSc), computational linguistics (BA, MA), cognitive science (BSc, MSc) and computational neuroscience (MSc).

Master's program in machine learning

Tübingen is the first German university that started a master's program in Machine Learning in the winter semester 2019/20. Students from all around the world can apply to take part in this four-semester program. The language of instruction is English. The program teaches the basics of the subject and allows a choice of specialization in a broad range of theory and applications. When it comes to Machine Learning, Tübingen is a leading global location. It offers many opportunities, even early in the program, to take part in the latest research.

PhD students

For PhD candidates in the wide area of machine learning, the Tübingen campus offers an excellent environment through the International Max Plank Research School for Intelligent Systems, run jointly by the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems and the University of Tübingen. Also independently of this school, many PhD students are employed by the various research groups of the University of Tübingen and the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems.

Every other year, Tübingen is also the home of the Machine Learning Summer School.
