Citavi license ends on March 31, 2024

The Baden-Württemberg Library Consortium has decided not to renew the current Citavi license after March 31, 2024.

This means that you will not be able to access existing Citavi projects or create new projects after this date. We recommend backing up and migrating your data in a timely manner. Possible alternatives, where the University Library can support you, are the license-required program Endnote and the license-free program Zotero.

For both programs, the University Library offers training, consultations and self-study programs.

We demonstrate how to move your data from Citavi to Zotero step by step on our YouTube channel.

You can also get more help on how to make the switch, for example, at the Bamberg University Library.

Tübingen University Library provides all active students, faculty and staff of the University and the University Hospital with free licenses of the Citavi literature management system within the scope of a campus license (does not apply to alumni, guest and secondary students) until March 31, 2024.

More information on the license, usage and download.

There is a second literature management software called EndNote, which is also offered as a campus license. You can find further instructions on the ZDV pages, we also offer training courses in german on this.
