Peter Duvinage studied law at the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel and received his PhD (subject: "The Splitting of Partnerships") in 1982. After a legal clerkship in Lübeck and the second state examination Peter Duvinage began as a freelancer and in 1987 became partner of Zistl – Läng – Duvinage, a renowned Munich office of chartered accountants, tax consultants and attorneys-at-law. At the beginning of 1992 he moved to become partner of the sports and media law firm of Dr. Axel Meyer-Wölden, which he took over after Dr. Meyer-Wölden's decease in 1997. For more than two decades he has now been accompanying the development of professional sports and their mass media exploitation as a legal expert with innovative and creative contributions. National and international sports organizations as well as professional sports leagues, clubs and top athletes are among his clients. Peter Duvinage is a member of the German Sports Arbitral Tribunal (Deutsches Sportschiedsgericht) and of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (Ständiges Schiedsgericht) of the German Football Association (DFB). Furthermore he is in the Boards of Trustees of the German Sport Aid Foundation (Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe) and of the WWF. In March 2010 the then faculty of social and behavioral sciences of the Tübingen University conferred on him an honorary professorship for sports management with a focus on issues related to sports and media rights.
