Sedigheh Kh. Mousavi is a Reader in Persian (Farsi) on all levels, including advanced courses in Persian communication and translation.

She has studied German philology in Tehran. Before coming to Tuebingen, she taught German philology at the Shahid-Beheshti-University in Tehran for 11 years and spent two years as Reader for Persian at the university of Bonn.

Since 2008 she has been teaching at the Department of Oriental and Islamic Studies where she received her PhD in Islamic Studies in 2016. (Title: "Molla Sadras Handlungstheorie im historischen Kontext ").
