Fachschaft Anglistik / Amerikanistik

The Fachschaft meets every Wednesday at 7:30 pm in room 139 of the Brechtbau.

You need help with your studies? The module handbook is a mystery to you? And the examination regulations aren't any better? You don't know who's the right contact person for your problem? You want to do voluntary work, meet new people or make a change at your uni?

Then the Fachschaft Anglistik / Amerikanistik is your place to be!

Just like you, we are students at the English Department: Bachelor and Master, Arts and Education, English and American Studies, from fresher to exam candidate. Being "Fachschaftler" means to voluntarily engage for other students at our university (and have tons of fun besides).

Why we're here:

• Your address for all sorts of problems in your English studies (GymPO, B.A., B.Ed, Master...)
• Student representation in the institute's council of the English Department
• Student representation in the council of the Humanities Faculty
• Participation in choosing new professors
• Organisation of freshers events: advice, café, city tour, pub crawl, freshers' weekend, ...
• Events like waffle sales, BBQ, Christmas parties, pub crawls, movie nights, ...
• Mediation between student and lecturer interests

In the councils, the student representatives have the same right to vote, speak and ask as any other member!

You can always come to one of our meetings if you'd like to know more. The regular date for this term (winter 2019/20) is Wednesday, 7:30 pm in room 139 of the Brechtbau.
