Biography

Roberto Riccardo Alvau is a PhD student in Art History at the Department of Art History of the Complutense University of Madrid since 2022 and part of the Complutense Research Group "Trama: Transculturality, Hybridation and Mundialization in Contemporary Art. East-West.” He graduated in Art History at the University of Valencia and later obtained a Master's degree in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture at the Complutense University of Madrid in collaboration with the Museo Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, where he was given the opportunity to co-curate his first exhibition entitled: "Chronicles of a discourse: The Juana Mordó Gallery in post-Franco Art". He specialises in the field of participatory and socially engaged art focusing on the South Asian and, deeply, Taiwanese question. His focus is on Taiwanese and Southeast Asian art as well as Contemporary Western Art and he is currently working on transculturality, hybridity and miscegenation in contemporary art from East and West."
