Short Description | Previous initiatives for digitization in teacher education at the University of Tübingen have primarily focused on promoting pre-service teachers’ professional development to implement technology for enhancing teaching quality. To complement these initiatives, in the project TüDiTeach 2.0, we particularly focus on the societal and ethical demands and constraints of digitization (e.g., artificial intelligence, big data). As such, we aim at promoting (pre-service) teachers’ media-related pedagogical knowledge to support students to deal with technology in a critical and reflective manner. Further focus lies in establishing a practice-oriented qualification concept in which pre-service teachers can evaluate and critically reflect on their own teaching together with experienced in-service teachers. In this respect, the project contributes to a holistic promotion of media-related knowledge in order to enable teachers to deal with educational technology in a practice-oriented and reflective manner. The project is incorporated in the center TüDiLB. |
