DiA:GO – Digital Media in Adaptive Upper Secondary School Teaching in the Common School

A development and research project in Tübingen with dissemination strategies in favor of further locations.

Brief Descripton

The aim of the project is to establish an innovative and adaptive media-didactic concept which promotes the subject-related and media competences of students – specifically, students in the upper secondary stage of the Common School and of the Geschwister-Scholl School of Tübingen – which is based on the further development of an adaptive teaching model (Bohl, 2017; Furtak et al., 2016).

To this end, the project will develop an evidence-based and interdisciplinary framework for the upper secondary stage’s core subjects. Systematic professionalization programs are used to qualify and support teaching staff in the subject-specific use of digital media in the upper secondary stage. A further emphasis is on developing and executing subject-specific teaching units (MINT, languages) to investigate the viability of adaptive teaching. These measures are flanked by systematic accompanying research to empirically trace processes of change among teachers and students. The framework concept and the materials of the teaching units resulting from the project will be made available via OER portals for the training and further education of teachers.
