Triage rules for German hospitals

The COVID 19 pandemic threatens to push the German health system to its limits. There is a danger that not all patients will be able to receive the necessary intensive medical treatment. Specialist societies and the German Ethics Council have recently submitted statements on such a case. For the Science Media Center, Robert Ranisch discusses the latest proposals and identifies ethical challenges in the fair distribution of health resources in crisis situations.
