Staff Assemblies (Personalversammlungen)

General Information on Staff Assemblies

There is at least one staff assembly per year at the University of Tübingen. This is required by law (the Landespersonalvertretungsgesetz - state staff representation act). All employees have the right to attend the staff assembly, which counts as working hours. Attendance does not require permission by supervisors (see § 51 of the Landespersonalvertretungsgesetz). If your supervisor denies you participation, please contact the staff council. If an institution is unable to maintain operations because employees are going to a staff assembly, the institution may be closed for the duration of the assembly.

Staff assemblies are an important element of the work of the staff council. The purpose of the assemblies is to inform the employees about the current activities of the staff council, as well as about developments and problems within the university. All employees are invited to express their opinions at the meeting.
