Tübingen one of the world's most productive institutions for Educational Psychology

Ulrich Trautwein and Benjamin Nagengast among the most productive researchers worldwide

The University of Tübingen has become one of the world's most productive institutions for Educational Psychology: in a recent evaluation published by the journal Educational Psychology Review, it ranked fourth in the global rankings, making it the only German research institution to make it into the top 20.

In another evaluation, which analyzed the productivity of individual researchers based on publications in the five leading journals in the field, Ulrich Trautwein took second place worldwide, and first place when six leading journals were taken into account. Other educational researchers from Tübingen also made it into the ranking. Benjamin Nagengast reaches the top 12; in the evaluation on the productivity of young researchers, Hanna Gaspard takes 4th place.

For the ranking, the authors compared how often the researchers served as (co-)authors of articles in the journals Cognition and Instruction, Contemporary Educational Psychology, Educational Psychologist, Educational Psychology Review, Journal of Educational Psychology, and - in supplemental analyses - Learning and Instruction from 2015 to 2021. The aforementioned five and six journals, respectively, are considered leaders in the field of educational psychology.
