The Master's program in Sociology with a Focus on Empirical Research at the University of Tübingen’s Department of Sociology offers a research-oriented further qualification in Sociology with a special emphasis on quantitative and qualitative methods of empirical social research.
The Master's degree is a program based on the Bachelor’s program in Sociology and is set up with a four-semester regular duration of study. Of the 120 credit points in this program, 108 are completed in the major subject Sociology and 12 in the area of compulsory elective subjects. The Master's program starts in the winter semester.
Applications for the Master's program are submitted online via the ALMA application portal of the University of Tübingen. The deadline for applications for the winter semester is June 15, 2020. The requirement for admission to the Master’s program at the University of Tübingen is a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology or a comparable degree program with a grade of 2.7 or better. On the basis of the final grade as well as the assessment of two term papers from the previous studies, a ranking is established in a two-stage selection procedure.
