Research Line 6: Immigration, integration and inclusion research

This research area investigates different facets of immigration, integration and inclusion. Inequalities between people of different age groups with and without an migrant background with regard to integration into and through sport are as much a part of our research agenda as socio-cultural aspects of health and illness in the context of immigration, integration and inclusion. A collaborative project together with the Department of Education & Health Research focuses on health promotion for employees with a migrant background in small and medium-sized companies. Furthermore, a research project pursues questions on the national and ethnic identity of top athletes with a migration background are examined. The research projects take a critical perspective. Among other things, the question is asked as to what expressiveness can actually be attributed to the factor of migration background with regard to attitudes and behavior.
