Learning by doing - IfS students produce the livestream of the Tigers Tübingen

A group of students of the Sports Science Bachelor program with focus on Media and Communication is currently gaining valuable insights into the professional production of a live stream.

In July, supervised by Michael Bollenbacher (SWR) and Dr. Verena Burk (responsible for the study program), ten students started to learn how to produce an internet live stream, e.g., using the camera, conducting interviews, or directing. In September, the stream-team started to put what they have learned into practice for the Tigers Tübingen.

The basketball team of the Tigers Tübingen is currently on second place in the league table of the 2nd Basketball Bundesliga. The Tigers have already won seven out of nine games.

The first home game - against the team Bayer Giants Leverkusen - took place in the Volksbank-Arena in Rottenburg. The students were responsible for the camera and the directing for the live broadcast on sportdeutschland.tv. The game was commented by the students Niklas Schüler and Benedict Hottner as well as by the experts Rouven Hänig and Manu Pasios.

The next game will take place on Saturday, 20 November 2021, at 7 pm in the Volksbank-Arena in Rottenburg against Rasta Vechta. The pregame show, the game and thus also the students' work can be followed live on sportdeutschland.tv.
