New book publication on integrity in sport

The book presents findings from a project that was funded by German Federal Institute of Sports Science (BISp) and is published in the essentials book series (Springer).

The book provides an overview of integrity in sports and presents findings from a scoping review and an expert workshop on prevention methods against integrity issues related to discrimination, doping, corruption and match fixing, as well as sexual abuse. In this regard, integrity in sport is considered an inherent feature of sporting competitions. Principles of fair play and a level playing field make athletes engage in sporting competitions because they imply equal opportunities for all competitors to strive for success.

This study is based on a research project that was funded by the German Federal Institute of Sports Science, which was conducted jointly by Dr. Felix Otto and Prof. Tim Pawlowski (both Institute of Sports Science), well as Prof. Christian Deutscher and Finn Spilker (both Bielefeld University).

The book is published as open access and can be downloaded as PDF or EPUB.
