Sports Federations: live broadcast of panel discussion
On 19 November 2019, representatives from various fields, such as sports, politics, media and science met at the Pestana Hotel in Berlin for the 7th edition of the “ARD Forum Sport”.
The topic of this year’s edition was “The sports federation – sustainable organisation or phase-out model?“ Different aspects of the topic were discussed by several distinguished experts such as Veronika Rücker (Chair of the German Olympic Sports Confederation Board, the President of the German Basketball Federation, Ingo Weiss, the President of the European Handball Federation, Michael Wiederer, and the Olympic Champion 2016 in Javelin, Thomas Röhler.
For seven years now, the event has been organized by the Sport Coordination Department of the broadcaster ARD in cooperation with team members of the Department Sport Economics, Sport Management and Media Research (University of Tübingen) and students from the Bachelor program “Sports Journalism/Media and Communication”.
