Application Deadline for the BW-Stipend!

Dear Wiwis,

You can once again apply for the Baden-Württemberg SCHOLARSHIP for the 2026/27 exchange year. The Baden-Württemberg Foundation's program promotes international exchange between particularly qualified students and partner universities worldwide. The scholarships are awarded in equal parts to incoming and outgoing students.

Who can apply?

  • Tübingen students (including those in dual degree programs) who are planning an exchange with a non-European partner university through the International Office or an institute partnership.                                                                                                      
  • Tübingen doctoral students planning a stay at selected partner universities (including Doshisha University, Korea University, Stellenbosch University, Yale University, UNC Chapel Hill, and universities in the Matariki Network

ERASMUS stays, internships, PJ, teaching assistantships, or stays abroad with free board and lodging are not eligible for funding.

 

Selection is based on performance and is made by a university commission. Previous academic performance is decisive, but extracurricular activities may also be taken into account. In addition, it is possible to apply for the “Opportunity Equalization” budget, which supports students whose life circumstances have affected their academic performance (e.g., medical reasons or studying with a child).

Funding is available for stays abroad between August 2026 and July 2027.

  • One semester: €3,200                                                                                                                                                                             
  • Two semesters: €4,800
     

Parallel funding through another scholarship abroad is not possible (exception: travel allowances). BAföG can be received, but partial crediting is possible.
