Prof. Dr. Patrick Kampkötter appointed to the Advisory Board of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS)

Prof. Dr. Patrick Kampkötter has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales, BMAS) for the research area “Work Quality and Economic Succes

In this role, he will contribute to a key advisory body addressing management practices, modern working conditions, and employee and firm development. The Board’s mission is to identify—based on scientific evidence—priority issues for shaping future labour markets and employment policy, translating robust empirical findings into actionable recommendations for policymakers to improve work quality and employee well-being.

A further focus is the continued development of the Linked Personnel Panel (LPP) dataset, which Prof. Kampkötter co-created beginning in 2011. The LPP is a major data source for studying the relationships between management practices, individual work quality, and firm performance.

Commenting on his appointment, Prof. Kampkötter said: “It is important to me to closely link research and practice and to process empirical findings in such a way that they generate concrete, effective impetus for politics and businesses.”

He will work alongside stakeholders from labour unions, employer associations, policymaking institutions, the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), and the research community.
