The course informs students about the ongoing and groundbreaking impact the digital transformation has on the global business world, both on the country as well as the corporate level. The course focuses on how corporations (should) react to these challenges in order to remain competitive. The high importance of soft skills (e.g., leadership) in such a business transformation will be particularly stressed. The content of this module will be illustrated by many practical examples from personal experience.

Objective

This module enables students to understand the digital transformation of the global economy and in particular of global companies. They will learn about the major impact of the New Tech players (US, China) and the global Start-up community on traditional business models. Students will further study the opportunities and risks of new Technologies (e.g., Artifical Intelligence, Big Data, Machine Learning, Blockchain) on Business Model Innovation.
