This module familiarizes students with the principles of empirical management research.
Key topics include:
- formulating a viable research problem
- selecting an appropriate research design
- collecting and processing data
- structuring theses and term papers
In this module, students will understand the empirical research process step by step and recognize which quality criteria apply to different research designs. They will analyze and critically assess the methodology of published studies and recognize current research gaps. On this basis, they can start developing their own empirical or conceptual research project for a Master thesis or term paper. This course is a prerequisite for writing an M.Sc. thesis at the Department of International Business
