Institute of Art History

Image Database easydb

Access and Use

The Image Database EasyDB with the Institute’s digital image holdings is accessible online under
You can find instructions on using EasyDB here (researching and downloading images) and here.

New Access to EasyDB:

As of now the generally used login for all students of Art History will be closed. It is replaced by your personal university login data (also known as  Single Sign-On or Shibboleth access). That makes your access to EasyDB simpler.
What to do when you login for the first time can be found in this PDF (German) description Shibboleth Access to easydb“.
Please use only this type of access to EasyDB.

For all teaching personnel the former access remains in place until further notice.

Every student can request scans or digital images free of charge to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for courses. These scans are prepared by the photographer in the Photocopying Office using book images.
The request forms can be obtained from the library supervisor or downloaded as a pdf file here.
You can find further information on this on the sheet Instructions for Scan Requests. The completed scans are available for downloading from the central image database easydb around seven days after you submit the request.

Image Database Prometheus

In addition, you can research images in the Prometheus database.
