Borrowing Materials over the Weekend
Friday 9 a.m. - noon and 1 - 3 p.m. (Returns: Monday by noon)
The Institute of Art History has a non-lending library. However, it is possible to borrow books over the weekend. The Institute relies on its users returning the books on time so that they can be used again at the latest on the next working day. Books from the semester book collections (Semesterapparat) cannot be borrowed.
During the semester, you can only borrow and return books from the Art History Library at the Institute of Art History’s information desk (in the hallway).
If you do not return books on time, the library director reserves the right to take further steps (e.g. prohibiting you from borrowing books). Late fees may be assessed.
Copier (Room 118)
It is only possible to copy from books to a limited extent.
Concentrations of the Library Holdings
You can look through the holdings with the following catalogues:
OPAC for the Library at the Institute of Art History - here you can research all new books. The older holdings are continually being entered into this catalogue. Currently, 90% of the library holdings are included in OPAC and can be researched. The older holdings of the following classification groups still need to be added: YA, YP (auction catalogues), ...f (titles in the folio section).
The following card catalogues are still valid for the older holdings in the classification groups listed above:
In the Institute’s hallway, there are two computers that can be used for OPAC research work.
