Applicants with a bachelors degree, or an equivalent degree in biology or a related field, such as medicine, bioinformatics or biophysics from Germany or abroad, are eligible. English skills are required. Selection is based on the grade attained for the bachelors degree or an equivalent degree. This can be upgraded by extra vocational qualifications, such as BTA or MTA training, by work experience abroad in a biological field for a minimum period of six weeks or by scientific prizes or publications.
How do the nerve cells of the brain, millions of relatively simple processing units, cooperate to produce behaviour?
The international Masters Degree Program in Biology / Area of Specialization: Neurobiology at the University of Tübingen aims at enabling highly motivated students to unravel some of the brains mysteries.
The Masters Degree Program has a strong foundation in vertebrate systems neuroscience, offering training to study human and animal behaviour and their underlying neural circuits and systems. Convergent training of a broad range of behavioural, neurophysiological and computational methodologies will be offered in an inspiring and research-oriented atmosphere.
Students will be able to select courses (modules) at the Institute of Neurobiology, the
Dept. of Biology, the Faculty of mathematics & Natural Sciences and the Forum Scientiarum.
After completion of the M.Sc. in Biology/Area of Specialization Neurobiology, successful students will be eligible to enter the doctoral programs at the University of Tübingen in a
time saving way.
