The M.Sc. programme, Evolution and Ecology, provides instruction on the origin, the evolution and the conservation of complex biological systems in time (current - historical) and space (local - global) and integrates processes from the genetic level through the organism to the ecological communities. The curriculum covers synthetic fundamental principles as well as applied, environmentally relevant aspects. The focus of the course is on the detailed scientific investigation of the evolution of organisms and the importance of their interactions in their environment.
Course language is English. Some individual required elective courses are conducted in German.
Application is only possible for the winter semester (deadlines: September 15th EU citizens, July 15th Non-EU citizens). At University of Tübingen you can apply simultaneously for a maximum of three master courses (deadline in the majority of cases: July 15th!). Application is online only. Access to the application portal is to be found here.
Please contact our International Office for any questions regarding application and admission procedures for international students.
IMPORTANT: If your bachelor’s degree certificate is not available by the deadline, you may submit an interim certificate or a transcript of records. This interim report must contain the average grade attained up to that point, as otherwise the application cannot be taken into consideration! Every year around 10% of applications are rejected because their transcripts contain no average grade!
