Parabolic Mirror Nanooptics Group

Group leader: PD Dr. Dai Zhang

Welcome to the parabolic mirror nano optics group website. We are a subgroup of the Nanospectroscopy research group of Prof. Alfred J. Meixner.

As a young and highly motivated group, we are dedicated in developing novel optical microscopic techniques and in applying them to study the light-matter interactions in the fields of fundamental as well as application-oriented science.

Open PhD Position

At Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Department of Chemistry, the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, the Chemical Nanospectroscopy group offers a PhD Position starting from 01.10.2020 for 3 years. The research topic of this position is applying high-resolution Raman and fluorescence spectroscopy to the investigation of fundamental optical, physical and chemical phenomena with resolutions far below the diffraction limit. Profile of the candidate: University degree (master or equal) in Physics, Chemistry or degree in Engineer; Familiar with Optical spectroscopy and microscopy; Team work skills; high oral and written communication skills in German or English. Applications and questions should be addressed to Prof. Dr. Alfred J. Meixner (afred.meixnerspam and PD Dr. Dai Zhang (dai.zhangspam For more information please see
