Ambient networking of mobile sensors

A project within the scope of the support program "Information Technology Baden-Wuerttemberg (BW-FIT)"

What it is about?

The AmbiSense project, a research cooperation with five project partners from the Universities of Tübingen and Stuttgart, is aimed at simplifying processes in logistics, warehousing, and surveillance. It has combined solutions for efficient acquisition and mapping of environments. These environments are equipped with diverse ambient technologies such as WLAN, Bluetooth, and RFID. The research is based on techniques from the fields of robotics, embedded systems, augmented reality (AR) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

The ambient system covers automatic product identification using RFID, localization based on ambient sensors, the enrichment of raw RFID data with product information from ERP backend systems and real-time augmented reality visualization.
