D1-2017 Commissioning of the CBM Silicon Tracking System

The CBM experiment (CBM = Compressed Baryonic Matter) an experiment under construction at the international Accelerator Center FAIR at Darmstadt. The research focuses onto extreme states of matter (T=1012 K, p=1032 hPa) The central detektor of the experiments is a large Silicon Tracking System (STS), which is optimized for very high interaction rates.

For the construction and the commissioning of the detector several PhD theses including 3-years stipends are offered.
