Cognitive-affective mechanisms of body image disturbance in adolescent anorexia and bulimia nervosa

Body image disturbance is one of the most prominent clinical characteristics of anorexia and bulimia nervosa.

In several studies, maintaining factors of the body image disturbance in adolescent anorexia and bulimia nervosa are studied using eye tracking and electroencephalogram (EEG). On the one hand, attentional processes during social comparison are investigated. On the other hand, the influence of mood and emotion regulation on attentional biases while watching one’s body are examined.
