Improving body dissatisfaction in overweight and obesity

Several studies have confirmed the role of body dissatisfaction in the development and maintenance of overweight and obesity.

In a randomized controlled trial, overweight and obese women without an eating disorder are allocated to one of two different interventions with the aim of improving body dissatisfaction (cognitive intervention or mirror exposure). Before and after treatment body dissatisfaction is assessed using different measures (e.g. interview, eye-tracking, etc.) to examine mechanisms underlying body image disturbances.

While the intervention is reserved for overweight and obese women only, we are also looking for normal-weight women regarding the remaining assessments.
