The Faculty of Science, University of Tübingen, working group of Prof. Li Zhaoping is looking for a

Neuroscience Lab Manager (w/m/d, 100%, E11 TV-L)

to join us at the earliest convenience. The salary is paid in accordance with the collective agreement for the public sector (E11 TV-L). This position is initially limited to two years.

Responsibilities

You will support/provide/

  • the logistics in the laboratory such as experimental equipment purchasing, experimental license applications, and experimental set ups
  • technical support, including IT/programming
  • general administrative processes 
  • project planning and managing deadlines
  • internal and external workshops and other events 
  • help writing grant applications and applications for ethical approvals

Requirements

  • Completed university degree (Master’s level) in natural sciences (Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Biology or a similar field), ideally a PhD
  • Strong command of both English and German (at least C1 level)
  • Good skills in IT/programming is a plus
  • good skills in neuroscience methods
  • Willingness and capability to learn about the research topics
  • Very strong management and organizational skills
  • Team playerIndependent and responsible 
  • High level of resilience and professionalism

Who we are

We use both theoretical and experimental approaches to investigate sensory and sensory motor transforms in the brain. Our multidisciplinary approaches involve theoretical hypotheses making, model building, behavioral experiments on humans and animals, and neuroscience experiments to examine brain’s neural activities. One part of our group is located in the University, in the Center for Integrative Neurosciences, and the other part is in the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics as the Department for Sensory and Sensorimotor Systems, see www.kyb.tuebingen.mpg.de/research/dep/zl.html. This job opening for a Lab manager is for the sub-group located at the University, Center for Integrative Neurosciences focusing on behavioral, electrophysiological, and imaging experiments on rodents.
