Die Exkursion in die Lausitz bietet Studierenden die Möglichkeit, Wildtierökologie dort zu erleben, wo Theorie auf Praxis trifft. In einer der vielfältigsten Kulturlandschaften Mitteleuropas stehen moderne Methoden des Wildtiermonitorings, Spurenlesen und die Analyse von Mensch–Tier–Umwelt-Interaktionen im Mittelpunkt. Der Kurs richtet sich an Master-Studierende aus der Biologie und Geoökologie, die Säugetiere und andere terrestrische Wirbeltiere nicht nur aus der Literatur kennen lernen, sondern sie im Gelände erfassen, beobachten und ökologisch einordnen möchten, mit besonderem Fokus auf Artenschutz, Management und angewandte Freilandmethoden.
The field excursion to the Lausitz region (Germany) offers students the opportunity to experience wildlife ecology where theory meets practice. Set within one of Central Europe’s most diverse cultural landscapes, the course focuses on modern wildlife monitoring techniques, track and sign identification, and the analysis of human-wildlife-environment interactions. The excursion is designed for master students in biology and geoecology who want to go beyond textbooks and learn how to detect, observe, and interpret mammals and other terrestrial vertebrates directly in the field, with a strong emphasis on conservation, management, and applied field ecology.
