We are back from EGU2025, where we spent six days discussing geoscientific and environmental topics with around 20,000 other scientists. It was an exciting week, with fascinating discussions and new perspectives, and also simply nice to meet alumni again.

Kira, Julia and Elisa co-led the session “Palaeoclimate modeling: From time-slices and sensitivity experiments to evaluating transient simulations for improved future projections” mit geleitet, and Nils the session "Understanding carbon cycle – climate interactions during the Quaternary through the study of oceanic circulation, vegetation, and wildfires".

Additionally, we presented the following works:

• Tom on the impacts of vulcanic eruptions on overshoot scenarios
• Elisa on climate fluctuations between cold and hot climate states
• JP on the climatic interplay between the southern and northern hemispheres during the last glacial period
• Julia on vegetation over 30 million years ago
• Nils on the vegetation and asian summer monsun during the last Glacial
• Yana on the terrestrial vegetation response to extreme weather events and
• Kira on modelling the last Interglacial with ICON
