Sebastian Franz is a postdoctoral researcher in the ICAWaR project (Improving Climate Adaptation Policies for Water Resilience in Germany). This interdisciplinary research project combines approaches from environmental and political sciences to contribute to the analysis and development of sustainable water resource management. The project examines governance networks and political decision-making processes in connection with future climate scenarios to support local decision-making in climate adaptation strategies related to water supply.
After completing his studies in geography, geology, and political science in Tübingen and Rio de Janeiro, he worked for a municipal consulting firm specializing in the financing of local infrastructure, particularly in the areas of water supply and wastewater management. Alongside his consulting work, he completed his PhD focusing on local energy transition policies and initiatives in the context of societal transformation processes.
