I've studied computer science at the University of Tübingen and worked as a software developer in Stuttgart for 2.5 years before I started to work in the department of geoscience.
As a system and network administrator I manage all the PCs, Macs and Linux machines of our work group. I'm also responsible for our small cluster (about 180 cores), our file servers (about 400 TB) and our web page.
For TERRA I'm managing various virtual machines: Mattermost, Gitlab, E-Lab, NextCloud and others.
Each winter semester I teach a beginner Python course together with Amirhossein Ershadi.
Each summer semester I teach an advanced Python course also together with Amirhossein Ershadi.
Besides that I'm also working as a software developer writing tools and programs in C, C++, Python and Rust.
I've put some of my tools as open source code on github.
