Main research interests:

  • Soil organic carbon sequestration and soil fertility enhancement: How effective carbon management strategies can enhance soil health and contribute to climate change mitigation.
  • Soil microbial ecology: Focusing on how microbial residues, as a key component of soil organic matter, impact the stability and long-term storage of organic carbon.
  • Carbon use efficiency: Explore how soil microbial communities influence carbon cycling processes.

Research projects

  • RootWayS II: Deep-rooting cover crop mixtures: Creating Highways to subsoil water and nutrient resources (BMBF)
  • CSC: Deep-rooting cover crop mixtures for subsoil resource exploitation by maize
