Info: Dalila De Caro completed a BSc in Classics at the University of Catania. Although she has acquired a solid background in ancient history and classical languages (ancient Greek and Latin), it was during her Bachelor's degree that she decides to focus her study on the Prehistory, studying peculiar aspects of the material culture of Neanderthals and Anatomically Modern Humans. In the meantime, she attends several seminars on stone knapping and conferences on Sicilian Prehistory.
 
At the Federal University of Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées uT2 “Jean Jaurès” (Mirail) she obtains the Master of Research (double degree under bilateral French-Italian agreement) in Archéologie, Sciences pour l'Archéologie, parcours Arts, Sociétés et Environnements de la Préhistoire et de la Protohistoire: Europe, Afrique (ASE2P). She obtains the Master's degree in Quaternary, Prehistory and Archaeology at the Universities of Ferrara, Trento, Modena/Reggio-Emilia and Verona. She is involved in the comparative study of the early phases of the Upper Palaeolithic in Europe and in the analysis of siliceous artefacts found in the Campon di Monte Avena (BL, Italy). After her Master's she starts working in the field of preventive and emergency archaeology. In 2020 she was admitted to the School of Specialisation in Archaeological Heritage in Genoa (prehistoric curriculum). In November 2021 Dalila De Caro starts her work as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Vangelis Tourloukis and Katerina Harvati at the University of Tübingen. The topic of the PhD project, with DFG funding, is Early Humans adaptations in Megalopolis and she is working on the analysis of lithic artefacts.
