The library mainly focuses on literature regarding the Palaeolithic and the Mesolithic. In addition to various volumes on Palaeolithic archaeology in Europe, Africa, Asia and America, the stock also includes anthropology, botany/archaeobotany, ethnology, geosciences (especially Quaternary) and zoology/zooarchaeology. To a lesser extent, there are also publications on the Neolithic period.
In principle, the library of the Department of Early Prehistory and Quaternary Ecology is a reference library. Loans can only be granted in exceptional cases.
