Scanning service

The Brechtbau Library offers lecturers a free scanning service for our journal holdings (if these are not also available online).

What / How much?

  • Single articles from print journals.
  • Scanning complete volumes is not permitted under copyright law, and it is not possible to send copies by post.
  • For copyright reasons, the scans may only be used for academic, i.e. for research and teaching purposes.
  • We may limit the service to 3 article orders per person per day when short of capacities.

How?

  • First of all, please make sure that the requested item is not already available electronically.
  • Please also make sure that the requested item is available at the BBB (search in the Catalog plus, limit the search or its results to Brechtbau-Bibliothek).
  • Send an e-mail with the scan request from your university address to auskunftspam prevention@bbb.uni-tuebingen.de.
  • We need the following information: author / article title / page numbers / name and volume or issue number of the journal / shelfmark (call number)
  • The absence of this information causes additional work and delays in the processing of requests.
  • If you have any problems, please contact the BBB team at the address given above or by telephone.
  • The scan will be made as soon as possible and sent to you as a pdf by e-mail.
  • If a scan is not possible (e.g. because the volume cannot be found on the shelf or is not available at the BBB), you will also receive a message.
  • We will try to process the order as quickly as possible, and ask for your understanding that there may be delays depending on the current staffing of the library and demand.

Further offers

  • You are also welcome to use the article service of the University Library with its extensive holdings in our disciplines.
