In November 1999, all the doctoral and postdoctoral students in the Medieval German Studies department from the University of Tübingen met for a conference in Blaubeuren. The discussion surrounding dissertations and postdoctoral projects proved so productive that it was decided to maintain this public aspect of the university and document its activities on a joint homepage.
