Thanh Lan Truong did her undergraduate studies in Anglistik/ Amerikanistik at Tübingen University. During her undergraduate studies, she took part in the Erasmus exchange programme in Bangor, Wales. Throughout her studies, she has discovered her passion for speech perception: How we understand it, and how we use it. In March 2018, she received are Master's degree in English Linguistics at University of Tübingen with the focus on the perception of Japanese pitch-accent contrasts. Since April 2018, she is doing her doctoral research under the supervision of Andrea Weber and Claudia Friedrich. Her main research interest centres on how different voices (or specific features of the voice) influence our perception of speech.
