The ESIT Mentoring Program aims to make things easier when you start studying Philosophy by offering you help through workshops and office hours.

We aim to make things easier when you start studying Philosophy by offering workshops and office hours focused on teaching research and academic writing skills. From presentations to essays and final theses, from correct citation practices to successful literature searches, we help students to acquire the entire spectrum of such skills. You can always email us with questions. Workshops will be announced in a timely manner – just look out for posters in the Philosophy Department or check the News section of this website.

This mentoring program is aimed in particular at first-year students, who need help planning and organizing their course of studies, but also at more advanced students who have questions regarding course requirements. We are happy to answer questions about which courses you need to attend and which areas you need to cover as part of your program. We hold weekly office hours and provide help via email. However, please note that ESIT mentors cannot answer any specific questions, for example, about whether you can get credit for this or that course. In such cases, you need to speak to the Departmental Academic Advisor, Dietmar Koch.

We help with philosophical writing projects of any kind, from your first essay up to your master thesis. We are not a proofreading service. Instead, we are advanced students who offer reflective and neutral advice on your writing project. If you have difficulties finding a topic, or if you feel stuck or want another opinion on a completed essay, just write to us. You can send us your questions and papers via email or make an appointment.
