Projects at SFBs

The LUI is an integral part of several top-class Collaborative Research Centres (SFBs) at the science location Tübingen. Particularly formative for the institute is its long-standing collaboration in SFB 923 "Threatened Orders" as well as its equally long-standing research in SFB 1070 "Resource Cultures". Within the SFBs, the LUI projects bring the strengths of Historical and Cultural Anthropology and its ethnographic and cultural-historical competence into interdisciplinary research contexts in order to advance innovative questions. Through the close cooperation at the LUI, the topics developed within the SFBs also flow back into the discussions within the discipline and contribute to the development of new research horizons.
